Comparative Study of the Unand Agribusiness Study Program to EPA UGM for Strengthening ASIIN Accreditation Preparation

Yogyakarta, November 12, 2025 — The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program (EPA) of the Faculty of Agriculture at UGM received a visit from the Agribusiness Program of Andalas University. The purpose of this visit was to conduct a comparative study related to preparations for applying for ASIIN international accreditation, as well as to strengthen academic relations between institutions.

During the meeting, the UGM EPA Team shared their experiences, strategies, and best practices in obtaining ASIIN accreditation, including preparing the Self Assessment Report (SAR) documents, strengthening the learning outcomes-based curriculum, strengthening the internal quality assurance system, and preparing for the site visit. The discussion was interactive, with both parties exchanging experiences and challenges encountered in internationalizing their study programs. read more

Analyzing Ireland’s Economic Transformation through an Input-Output Approach in a Regional Economics Guest Lecture

Yogyakarta, November 5, 2025 – The UGM Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program held a guest lecture for the Regional Economics course. The lecture carried the theme “Structural Changes in the Irish Economy 1926-2020: An Input-Output Analysis” with Prof. Cathal O’Donoghue, Professor of Public and Social Policy, University of Galway, Ireland, as the guest speaker.

In this guest lecture, Prof. Cathal began by introducing the basic concepts of value chains and input-output analysis. The value chain begins with the provision of raw materials, production, distribution, and sales services, to generate added value for consumers. In today’s economy, the value chain involves interactions between various sectors, giving rise to input-output relationships. Prof. Cathal explained the input-output (IO) model, which shows the multiplier effect when demand for inputs in a sector increases and involves inter-regional interactions. read more

EPA UGM Village Project Deployment at the Organic Rice Farmers Group, Sleman Regency

Yogyakarta, September 15, 2025 – The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA), Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, once again conducted a Village Project implementation, this time located at the Mekar Organic Rice Farmers Group, Ngalian and Ngudi Makmur Organic Rice Farmers Group, Prumpung, Sleman Regency. Improving Technology Literacy and Business Networking, UGM EPA Students Implement Village Project in Temanggung

Undergraduate Course Coordination Meeting for the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program: Optimal Preparation for the New Semester

Yogyakarta, August 26, 2025 – As part of its commitment to maintaining educational quality, the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program regularly holds Undergraduate Course Coordination Meetings ahead of the start of each new semester. This activity is attended by all faculty members of the EPA Program as a platform to synchronize and update various essential aspects of the learning process.

In this coordination meeting, faculty members discussed and updated the Semester Program and Learning Activity Plan (RPKPS). Additionally, the meeting included a review and preparation of learning materials and assignments to be implemented for each course in the upcoming semester. Through this process, it is hoped that the learning process will be practical, innovative, and relevant to advancements in knowledge and student needs. read more

Internal Quality Audit 2025: The Commitment of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program to Achieving Quality Education

Yogyakarta, August 12, 2025 – The Internal Quality Audit (IQA) is one of the key stages in the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) cycle, conducted annually regularly. This process involves a comprehensive evaluation of academic programs, laboratories, research centers, and student activity units to ensure that the quality of education and educational services is maintained and continues to improve.

On August 12, 2025, the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program received an IQA visit conducted by two competent auditors: Muhlisin, S.Pt., M.Agri., Ph.D., IPP from the Faculty of Animal Science, and Makbul Hajad, S.T.P., M.Eng., Ph.D. from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. read more

MAX DEA Training for EPA Program Lecturers

Yogyakarta, July 3, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program held an online MAX DEA training session via Zoom Meeting, attended by lecturers. The event featured Mr. Abi Pratiwa Siregar, S.P., M.Sc., as the speaker, who has experience in using the MAX DEA software for efficiency and productivity analysis.
The training aimed to enhance faculty members’ capacity in utilizing the MAX DEA software as a tool for Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), which is widely used in research fields such as economics, agriculture, and management. read more
