This study program was established in 1985. Initially, this study program had the name Socio-Economic Agriculture/Agribusiness. However, based on the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) assessment, the name changed to Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. This name change is to make it easier for stakeholders so as not to confuse stakeholders.
The name change was implemented in 2017, following Rector No. 1718/UN1.P/SK/HUKOR/2017 concerning the Naming of Study Programs at Gadjah Mada University. The duration of the lectures taken by students is eight semesters with a total of 144-148 credit units (233.1-239.1 ECTS). Students’ final degree when they graduate is Bachelor of Agriculture (S.P.) or Bachelor in Agriculture.
Admission is held once a year, and every year there are two semesters of lectures (odd and even). The average number of students per year is eighty people, and the fees are in the range of USD 0 – 750 per semester.
