The lecture focused on the theme “Circular Economy Practices in the Horticultural Business”, featuring a speaker from the Secretary of the Deputy for Food, Natural Resources, and the Environment at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Ms. Puspita Suryaningtyas, S.P., MBA, MGES.

Yogyakarta, October 10, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held a guest lecture for the Agribusiness Management course with the topic “Customer Behavior”. The event featured Prof. Wirawan Dony Dahana from The University of Osaka, Japan, an expert in marketing and consumer behavior. The lecture was enthusiastically attended by students eager to deepen their understanding of customer behavior and its application in modern agricultural business strategies.
Yogyakarta, September 17, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a guest lecture for the Agricultural Socio-Economic Assessment Course with the topic “Field Work Ethics in Social Sciences”. The lecture featured Dr. Lorenz Probst from Boku University, Austria, an experienced academic and researcher in the field of social research methodology and field ethics. Students enthusiastically attended the lecture to deepen their understanding of ethical practices in agricultural socio-economic research.
In an effort to strengthen the capacity of lecturers in the field of human resource management (HRM), the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, assigned two of its lecturers, Asih Kusumaningsih, S.P., M.Sc., and Pinjung Nawang Sari, S.P., M.Sc., to participate in the HR Manager Training and Certification program organized by a professional training institution in Yogyakarta.
The training was held on August 14–15, 2025, in person at the Malyhabara Hotel, Yogyakarta, with A. Noegroho Driprijanto, an experienced practitioner in the field of HR management, as the instructor. The activity continued with the BNSP Human Resource Manager Scheme certification on August 22, 2025, which was conducted online with assessor Dr. Aditya Nanda Priyatama, S.Psi., M.Si.
Yogyakarta, October 3, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, continues to demonstrate its commitment and consistency in organizing international classes as an effort to strengthen student capacity in facing global challenges. This initiative is part of a collaboration with the AIMS Program (Asian-International Mobility for Students), which provides students with opportunities for international exposure through cross-border cooperation.
Yogyakarta, September 18, 2025 – The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, is proud to congratulate Mr. Arif Wahyu Widada, S.P., M.Sc., who has been awarded a doctoral (S3) study opportunity at the Graduate School of Global Humanities and Social Science, Nagasaki University, Japan. His departure is not only a personal achievement but also a strategic step in strengthening academic capacity, research, and international networks in the field of agricultural economics and agribusiness.
Yogyakarta, September 15, 2025 – The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA), Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, once again conducted a Village Project implementation, this time located at the Mekar Organic Rice Farmers Group, Ngalian and Ngudi Makmur Organic Rice Farmers Group, Prumpung, Sleman Regency. The activity carried the theme “Program to enhance students’ understanding and capabilities in developing joint marketing concepts through the Village Project model.” This Village Project was participated in by 15 EPA students from the 2022 batch under the guidance of Hariyani Dwi Anjani, S.P., M.Sc., Sugiyarto, S.P., M.Sc., and Dr. Ir. Lestari Rahayu Waluyati, M.P.
Yogyakarta, September 16, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Program, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, conducted a Village Project deployment in Candiroto District, Temanggung Regency, in collaboration with Perhutani Kedu Utara Candiroto Forest Division as a field partner. The project focuses on the theme “Village Project to enhance students’ understanding and skills in technology use through the dissemination of technological knowledge and innovations to farmers via the utilization of Digital Technology Applications for business network expansion.” This Village Project was participated in by 15 students from the 2022 EPA class under the guidance of Dr. Hani Perwitasari, S.P., M.Sc., Arif Wahyu Widada, S.P., M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwidjono Hadi Darwanto, M.S.
Yogyakarta, August 21, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, held a Coaching Assistant Practicum activity for the 2025/2026 odd semester. The event, held at the MMA Auditorium, Building A.10 Sosek, 3rd Floor, was attended by all laboratory assistants from the EPA program who will support the practical learning process this semester.
The event began with an opening ceremony, followed by a coaching session led by Asih Kusumaningsih, S.P., M.Sc., the laboratory coordinator. The session focused on the technical aspects of conducting laboratory sessions and the regulations that laboratory assistants must adhere to in performing their duties.
Yogyakarta, August 26, 2025 – As part of its commitment to maintaining educational quality, the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program regularly holds Undergraduate Course Coordination Meetings ahead of the start of each new semester. This activity is attended by all faculty members of the EPA Program as a platform to synchronize and update various essential aspects of the learning process.
In this coordination meeting, faculty members discussed and updated the Semester Program and Learning Activity Plan (RPKPS). Additionally, the meeting included a review and preparation of learning materials and assignments to be implemented for each course in the upcoming semester. Through this process, it is hoped that the learning process will be practical, innovative, and relevant to advancements in knowledge and student needs.
