The AIMS Fall 2025 program stands as a valuable international academic experience that contributes significantly to students’ global competence and academic development. Hosana Adel Ivory, a student of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), batch of 2022, had the opportunity to participate in this student exchange program during the odd semester of the 2025 academic year, from September 2025 to January 2026. The program was hosted by Ibaraki University, located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, and involved students from the Faculty of Agriculture UGM across the 2022 and 2023 cohorts.

The Undergraduate Program of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, conducted a monitoring and evaluation session for the Impactful Internship Program on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM (WIB), held online. This activity aimed to assess students’ progress across partner institutions while identifying achievements and challenges encountered during the program.
Based on the April monitoring and evaluation results, students generally demonstrated significant progress in their internship activities. Most participants have been actively involved in both operational and administrative tasks within their respective institutions. Their activities have become increasingly diverse, ranging from data management and administrative work to direct field engagement such as surveys, distribution monitoring, and community outreach.
The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture conducted the Phase I Impactful Internship Monitoring session on Thursday, March 5, 2026, online with each student’s respective internship advisor. This activity plays a crucial role in ensuring that the internship program aligns with learning objectives and provides students with relevant real-world work experience.
The monitoring involved discussing students’ adaptation processes, the alignment of internship activities with their academic coursework, the variety of tasks performed, and the challenges encountered during the internship. In general, students demonstrated strong adaptability across various institutions, actively participating in administrative, operational, marketing, and field activities. However, several areas for improvement were also noted, including the need to align tasks with learning outcomes, strengthen technical skills, and maintain discipline in completing logbooks and preparing reports.
The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) at the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, held a Coaching Session for Laboratory Assistants for Genap Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Wednesday, February 5, 2026, at the MMA Auditorium in the Sosek Building. The event was attended by Asih Kusumaningsih, S.P., M.Sc., as the General Laboratory Coordinator; Dr. Hani Perwitasari, S.P., M.Sc., as the Head of the EPA Program; faculty members; and the Laboratory Assistant Team, consisting of undergraduate students from the EPA program, Master’s students in Agricultural Economics (MEP), and Master’s students in Agribusiness Management (MMA).
Yogyakarta, December 10, 2025 – The Evaluation of the Fall Semester Practicum for the 2025/2026 Academic Year was held offline at the MMA Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Agricultural Social Economics Building, Faculty of Agriculture. This activity marked the completion of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program Practicum for the Fall Semester 2025/2026. Lecturers and practicum assistants attended the event as a forum for reflection and continuous improvement of the practicum implementation over the course of one semester.
Yogyakarta, November 26, 2026 — The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, proudly welcomed 10 male graduates and 12 female graduates who officially earned their Bachelor of Agriculture (S.P.) degrees at the First Graduation Ceremony of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. This event marked a significant milestone for the entire academic community, as it once again highlighted numerous commendable achievements at both the departmental and faculty levels.
Guest Lecture on Research Methodology: Qualitative Approaches in Agricultural Socioeconomic Research
Yogyakarta, November 28, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, held a Guest Lecture for the Research Methodology Course, featuring Shahrin Shahab, M.A., PhD Candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the School of Public Policy, Oregon State University, USA, as the guest speaker. This activity was carried out to strengthen students’ understanding of various research approaches, particularly qualitative research methodology, which is increasingly relevant to agricultural socioeconomic studies.
Yogyakarta, November 12, 2025 — The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program (EPA) of the Faculty of Agriculture at UGM received a visit from the Agribusiness Program of Andalas University. The purpose of this visit was to conduct a comparative study related to preparations for applying for ASIIN international accreditation, as well as to strengthen academic relations between institutions.
During the meeting, the UGM EPA Team shared their experiences, strategies, and best practices in obtaining ASIIN accreditation, including preparing the Self Assessment Report (SAR) documents, strengthening the learning outcomes-based curriculum, strengthening the internal quality assurance system, and preparing for the site visit. The discussion was interactive, with both parties exchanging experiences and challenges encountered in internationalizing their study programs.
Yogyakarta, November 26, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture UGM, held a Guest Lecture for the Agribusiness Management Course, featuring Prof. Wirawan Dony Dahana from The University of Osaka, Japan, as the guest speaker. This guest lecture, themed “Consumer Behavior,” aimed to enhance students’ understanding of modern marketing dynamics, particularly regarding consumer behavior in the digital age.
In his presentation titled “Marketing in the Digital Age: The Role of Media Multitasking and Word of Mouth,” Prof. Dony introduced the concept of Media Multitasking (MM), which refers to the simultaneous use of two or more media and its impact on advertising effectiveness, consumer visits to sales sites, and purchasing decisions. He emphasized that the influence of MM is not always negative. Research results show that the impact of multitasking greatly depends on consumer motives, such as efficiency, control over information, information needs, and habits. Analysis using a latent model shows that each motive produces different responses to advertising exposure, advertising repetition frequency, and media consumption context.
Yogyakarta, October 20, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada held a guest lecture for the Business Analysis and Agricultural Projects course. The lecture focused on the theme “Circular Economy Practices in the Horticultural Business”, featuring a speaker from the Secretary of the Deputy for Food, Natural Resources, and the Environment at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Ms. Puspita Suryaningtyas, S.P., MBA, MGES.
