Yogyakarta, August 26, 2025 – As part of its commitment to maintaining educational quality, the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program regularly holds Undergraduate Course Coordination Meetings ahead of the start of each new semester. This activity is attended by all faculty members of the EPA Program as a platform to synchronize and update various essential aspects of the learning process.

In this coordination meeting, faculty members discussed and updated the Semester Program and Learning Activity Plan (RPKPS). Additionally, the meeting included a review and preparation of learning materials and assignments to be implemented for each course in the upcoming semester. Through this process, it is hoped that the learning process will be practical, innovative, and relevant to advancements in knowledge and student needs.

This learning coordination meeting supports several sustainable development goals (SDGs), specifically: SDG 4 – Quality Education: Improving the quality of higher education by ensuring that the curriculum and learning processes are always up-to-date and of high quality. SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: Promoting innovation in teaching methods and the use of educational technology. SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Strengthening internal collaboration among faculty members to create a synergistic and sustainable educational ecosystem.

Through this coordination meeting, the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program aims to enhance the quality of learning, producing graduates who are competent and adaptable to the times. This activity is one of the main pillars in realizing education that is responsive, sustainable, and has a positive impact on the academic world and the wider community.

Yogyakarta, April 25, 2025-In order to improve content production and news writing skills, the Department of Agricultural Social Economics (Sosek) Media Team consisting of Adinda, Adhika, April, Inay, Mila, Mirda, Manda, Dinda, and Arsya participated in the “Open Broadcaster Studio (OBS) and Article Writing Training” organized by the Faculty of Agriculture UGM on Friday (25/04/2025). Located in Co-working Space 1 AGLC 6th Floor, this training was attended by the Faculty Media Team and Media Teams from various departments.

The first session featured Mr. Ishadiyanto Salim, S.Pd., M.Pd., a lecturer in Agricultural Extension and Communication, who guided participants through training on the use of Open Broadcaster Studio (OBS) software. The participants practiced installing and operating OBS on their respective laptops, which is useful for live streaming and multimedia content production.

The activity continued with an article writing training session guided by Mrs. Desi Utami, S.P., M.Env.Sc., Ph.D., Head of the Information and Media Systems Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture. In this session, participants were invited to understand the basic principles of news writing, techniques for compiling engaging narratives, and strategies for determining angles that match the characteristics of the campus audience.

Mrs. Desi also emphasized the importance of consistently producing journalistic content in the institution’s communication strategy. “This year, the Faculty of Agriculture targets the achievement of 2025 news publications as a form of documentation as well as dissemination of information on academic and non-academic activities within the faculty,” she said.

The active discussion during the session showed the participants’ enthusiasm. One participant was Adhika Hafizh, a Department of Social Sciences participant who asked questions about strategies for producing engaging and not monotonous news content.

The presence of the Department of Agricultural Social Economics Media Team in this activity is part of an effort to strengthen internal capacity, which will support the publication of more creative, dynamic, and professional departmental activities, especially those related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program.

Yogyakarta, April 24, 2025—In the warm atmosphere of the month of Syawal, lecturers of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program (EPA) visited retired lecturers on Thursday, April 24, 2025. This activity is part of the Syawalan tradition, which is routinely carried out as a form of respect while strengthening the family ties between academicians across generations.

The group of EPA active lecturers visited the residence of several retired lecturers, including Mr. Ir. Sinarhadi and Dr. Ir. Djuwari, who, during their tenure, contributed a lot to building the development of the EPA Study Program to what it is today. The visit began with a prayer together and mutual forgiveness. The atmosphere of intimacy and kinship was thick throughout the visit.

This visit was filled with news exchanges and many stories about the EPA Study Program’s past journey and hopes for the future. Not infrequently, laughter and light jokes broke out, warming up the meeting. The former lecturers warmly shared advice and motivation to maintain the spirit of building the world of agriculture and agribusiness.

This seawall activity and visit are expected to be a momentum for continuing to maintain the spirit of togetherness, strengthen each other, and preserve a culture of respect for predecessors who have laid the foundations of progress in the field of agricultural economics and agribusiness.

Magelang, April 22, 2025 – The supervisor team of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) Internship Program from the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program (EPA), Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, carried out monitoring and evaluation activities for students who were undergoing the MBKM internship program at the Agriculture and Food Service Office of Magelang Regency.

During this visit, the accompanying lecturers discussed directly with the DPP of Magelang District, including the Head of the General and Personnel Subdivision, to review the development and contribution of students over the past two months. Currently, students are placed in several Agricultural Extension Centers (BPP) in various sub-districts and are scheduled to complete their placement in BPP on May 7, 2025.

As a follow-up, students are scheduled to attend the Agriculture and Food Agency office on May 6, 2025, to coordinate further internship placements. It is planned that in the following month, they will start carrying out internship activities at the DPP head office in Magelang District.

During the assignment at BPP, students participate in various extension and farmer assistance activities. The Borobudur area is one of the locations with the highest intensity of activities due to its status as a National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN), which also impacts the dynamics of local agriculture. This provides students with broader and more complex insights into understanding the relationship between tourism development and local agriculture.

This monitoring activity is part of a joint commitment to continuously improve the quality of MBKM program implementation. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this internship activity also supports the achievement of SDG 2 (No Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships to Achieve Goals).

Through students’ active involvement in the field, the EPA Study Program hopes to continue strengthening the synergy between educational institutions and local governments. The program aims to produce graduates who are competent, adaptive, and can make a real contribution to sustainable agricultural development.

The Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program aims to provide students with opportunities to learn directly in related institutions and companies. Yogyakarta, February 11, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program of Universitas Gadjah Mada carried out Practicum Assistant Coaching Squad activities at the Sosek Building, Faculty of Agriculture. This activity aims to provide debriefing for 71 practicum assistants in charge of 9 practicum courses for the EPA Study Program in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

The event was led by Asih Kusumaningsih, S.P., M.Sc., as the Practicum Coordinator of the EPA Program for the Even Semester 2024/2025. In this coaching session, practicum assistants were provided with various necessary materials that support the smooth implementation of the practicum, starting from the introduction of the EPA Study Program practicum, the formation of assistant structures, and an explanation of the flow of practicum implementation.

With this coaching, it is hoped that practicum assistants can better carry out their duties and provide quality learning experiences for students. In addition, this activity is also the first step in building superior human resources with good communication, leadership, and management skills for use in various professional fields.

This activity shows the commitment of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program to improving the quality of practicum learning and ensuring that students get the best learning experience.
