The Undergraduate Program of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, conducted a monitoring and evaluation session for the Impactful Internship Program on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM (WIB), held online. This activity aimed to assess students’ progress across partner institutions while identifying achievements and challenges encountered during the program.
Based on the April monitoring and evaluation results, students generally demonstrated significant progress in their internship activities. Most participants have been actively involved in both operational and administrative tasks within their respective institutions. Their activities have become increasingly diverse, ranging from data management and administrative work to direct field engagement such as surveys, distribution monitoring, and community outreach.
In several institutions, students contributed to digital data processing, report preparation, document archiving, and system-based data entry. Additionally, some students were involved in field activities, including monitoring assistance programs, conducting commodity surveys, and supporting operational activities in agricultural and marketing sectors.
In the creative and digital sector, students assigned to marketing-based companies have shown increased involvement in content creation, including quality control (QC), revisions, and cross-divisional coordination. This reflects an improvement in students’ digital communication and teamwork skills.
However, the monitoring and evaluation also identified several challenges. One of the main issues is the suboptimal progress in preparing the final internship reports (MBKM), although most students have completed their activity logbooks. Furthermore, some students are still in the process of determining their Field Work (KL) topics and aligning them with their internship activities.
Other challenges include limited program funding in certain placements, misalignment between course conversion subjects and job assignments, and uneven workload distribution. In some cases, students also faced technical challenges such as limited resources for content creation, system or application constraints, and workplace-related factors.
Overall, the implementation of the Impactful Internship Program in April has progressed well. Students have shown adaptability and increased engagement in professional activities within partner institutions. Moving forward, students are expected to focus more on completing their final reports and ensuring alignment between internship activities and intended learning outcomes.
This monitoring and evaluation activity serves as an essential mechanism to ensure the quality of the Impactful Internship Program, as well as a platform for continuous improvement involving students and academic supervisors.
The monitoring and evaluation activities for the Impact Internship program align with several points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality education, SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth, and SDG 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure.
