Yogyakarta, August 26, 2025 – Students of Universitas Gajdah Mada have achieved another proud milestone. Ghiffari Putra Agoeng, a student of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, successfully secured first place in the Business Plan Competition (BPC) at the National Cooperative Jamboree (Jamkopnas) 2025.
Ghiffari served as team leader in the competition, representing the Universitas Gadjah Mada Student Cooperative (Kopma UGM). The team presented an innovation titled “Parisa: Processor of Natural and Renewable Liter Scented Accelerator,” a waste processing device capable of efficiently converting organic waste into compost through an integrated technology-based decomposition process.
Parisa serves as a concrete solution to the growing issue of food waste, particularly in urban areas and campus environments. This technology is not only environmentally friendly but also empowers communities to manage waste independently and sustainably.
This innovation is aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: SDG 2 – Zero Hunger: By increasing the availability of environmentally friendly compost fertilizer, Parisa supports sustainable agriculture. SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: Reducing food waste and promoting sustainable waste management practices. SDG 13 – Climate Action: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions through efficient and controlled organic waste processing. SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: Introducing practical and applicable technological innovations in the community.
This success is expected to inspire other students to continue innovating and addressing fundamental challenges in society. Ghiffari and his team hope that in the future, Parisa can be developed more broadly and applied in various environments, from campuses and communities to household-scale industries. Parisa is not only intended to be a tool but also a movement toward a greener, more self-reliant, and sustainable ecosystem.
