Yogyakarta, May 12, 2025 – Keluarga Mahasiswa Soisal Ekonomi Pertanian (KMSEP), Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics (SOSEK) UGM successfully organized Jogjajanan 2025, a biennial event anticipated by students, alums, and the general public. At Pancasila Field UGM, the event was lively and energetic, combining creative competitions, culinary bazaars, interactive entertainment, and a spectacular music concert that aroused the enthusiasm of visitors from all walks of life.

✨ EPA’s “Golden” Stand: Fun, Informative, and Full of Prizes!
One of the highlights of Jogjajanan 2025 was participating in the Agricultural Economics Study Program (EPA), which enlivened the event by opening an interactive stand with the theme “Golden”. To introduce itself to the broader community, the Agricultural Economics Study Program (EPA) also enlivened Jogjajanan by appearing striking with golden yellow ornaments that depict passion, energy, and glory. The EPA stand was visually appealing, interactive, and educational. Every visitor was greeted with an informative brochure about the EPA Study Program. After reading the brochure, visitors were invited to play fun games and answer light quizzes about the EPA.

Yogyakarta, May 8, 2025—Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) Phase III for students participating in the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program was held on May 10, 2025, online via Zoom Meeting. Monitoring and Evaluation of the MBKM Internship scheme starts at 13.00 WIB and is attended by students, supervisors, and partner representatives. Yogyakarta, April 24, 2025—In the warm atmosphere of the month of Syawal, lecturers of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program (EPA) visited retired lecturers on Thursday, April 24, 2025. This activity is part of the Syawalan tradition, which is routinely carried out as a form of respect while strengthening the family ties between academicians across generations.

The group of EPA active lecturers visited the residence of several retired lecturers, including Mr. Ir. Sinarhadi and Dr. Ir. Djuwari, who, during their tenure, contributed a lot to building the development of the EPA Study Program to what it is today. The visit began with a prayer together and mutual forgiveness. The atmosphere of intimacy and kinship was thick throughout the visit.

Magelang, April 22, 2025 – The supervisor team of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) Internship Program from the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program (EPA), Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, carried out monitoring and evaluation activities for students who were undergoing the MBKM internship program at the Agriculture and Food Service Office of Magelang Regency.

During this visit, the accompanying lecturers discussed directly with the DPP of Magelang District, including the Head of the General and Personnel Subdivision, to review the development and contribution of students over the past two months. Currently, students are placed in several Agricultural Extension Centers (BPP) in various sub-districts and are scheduled to complete their placement in BPP on May 7, 2025.

   The Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program aims to provide students with opportunities to learn directly in related institutions and companies. Using the concept of link and match between academics and the world of work, this program helps students gain practical experience, hone professional skills, and understand the dynamics of the agribusiness sector and agricultural economy firsthand.
   The MBKM program allows students to convert this internship experience into 10-20 credits through the EPA Study Program curriculum. Thus, students can still fulfill learning outcomes without falling behind the academic curriculum.
   Through this internship program, students are expected to develop professional competencies, industry networks, and a deeper understanding of the world of work in agribusiness and agricultural economics. With this experience, they are better prepared to compete in the world of work and make a real contribution to developing Indonesia’s agricultural and food sectors.

Regina Claudia, an Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program student, is one of eight participants in the SUIJI-SLP Program representing UGM. The Six University Initiative Japan-Indonesia Service Learning Program (SUIJI-SLP) is a collaborative program between 3 universities in Indonesia (UGM, IPB, and Unhas) with 3 universities in Japan (Ehime University, Kagawa University, and Kochi University).

Regina said that the SUIJI program offers the opportunity to learn directly from the local community to understand their cultural values and lifestyles. “It turns out that learning Japanese culture directly from the Japanese people is mindful and meaningful!” she said.
