Lecturers from the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program, Agus Dwi Nugroho, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Arif Wahyu Widada, S.P., M.Sc., participated in the “Business Incubator Consultant” Training and Certification held by the Indonesian Management Forum (FMI) in Yogyakarta on July 31 – August 2, 2025. This activity is part of staff development efforts focused on improving lecturers’ competencies in entrepreneurship and business incubator-based MSME assistance. This staff development program is one of the implementations of the Impactful Campus Competition Program (PKKB) from the Higher Education Database Center (PDDIKTI).
SDG 12 : responsible consumption and production
The PKM-PM BIJAK UGM Team, funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), carried out a program entitled “Empowerment of PKK Kalimundu through Processing of Agricultural Waste Corncobs into Briquettes with Optimization of Caloric Combustion”. This activity aims to empower PKK mothers in Kalimundu Hamlet, Gadingharjo Village, Sanden District, Bantul Regency, by processing agricultural waste into environmentally friendly briquettes that hold economic value, thereby promoting community welfare improvement.
Yogyakarta, September 15, 2025 – The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA), Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, once again conducted a Village Project implementation, this time located at the Mekar Organic Rice Farmers Group, Ngalian and Ngudi Makmur Organic Rice Farmers Group, Prumpung, Sleman Regency. The activity carried the theme “Program to enhance students’ understanding and capabilities in developing joint marketing concepts through the Village Project model.” This Village Project was participated in by 15 EPA students from the 2022 batch under the guidance of Hariyani Dwi Anjani, S.P., M.Sc., Sugiyarto, S.P., M.Sc., and Dr. Ir. Lestari Rahayu Waluyati, M.P.
Yogyakarta, August 28, 2025 — A total of 39 students from the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), were officially graduated in the Undergraduate and Diploma Graduation Ceremony for Period IV of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, which was held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Grha Sabha Pramana, UGM.
This graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone, signifying the culmination of the students’ studies and the commencement of their journey to contribute to society as competent, adaptable, and agripreneurial graduates. The presence of parents, lecturers, and the academic community added to the solemnity of the event, which was also filled with messages of motivation and appreciation for the achievements of the graduates.

Yogyakarta, August 26, 2025 – Students of Universitas Gajdah Mada have achieved another proud milestone. Ghiffari Putra Agoeng, a student of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, successfully secured first place in the Business Plan Competition (BPC) at the National Cooperative Jamboree (Jamkopnas) 2025.
Ghiffari served as team leader in the competition, representing the Universitas Gadjah Mada Student Cooperative (Kopma UGM). The team presented an innovation titled “Parisa: Processor of Natural and Renewable Liter Scented Accelerator,” a waste processing device capable of efficiently converting organic waste into compost through an integrated technology-based decomposition process.
The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program held a Drone Training on Monday, July 7, 2025, offline at the Policy Room, Building A2.a, 4th Floor, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM. The event was attended by EPA program faculty members, with internal program speakers Gilang Wirakusuma, S.P., M.Sc., and Arif Wahyu Widada, S.P., M.Sc.
During the training, the speakers presented materials ranging from an introduction to drones, regulations and guidelines for their use, to proper operating procedures. After receiving the explanations, the lecturers directly practiced using drones at the Fisheries Field of the Faculty of Agriculture. Through this practical session, participants not only learned about the technical aspects of drone control but also understood the benefits and potential applications of drones in the field of agribusiness. Drones can be utilized for mapping rice fields, measuring crop stands, monitoring plant growth and health, and managing agricultural land more efficiently and precisely.
Another proud achievement has been secured by students of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program. The Student Creativity Program – Community Service (PKM-PM) 2025, comprising Laluna Lena (EPA 2023), Asyifa Nur Afanie (EPA 2023), Anisa Eka Zakiya (EPA 2023), and two other students from different programs, has successfully secured funding for the PKM-PM 2025 program.
The title of the program is “BIJAK – Empowering the PKK of Kalimundu Village through the Utilization of Corn Cob Agricultural Waste into Briquettes with Optimized Calorific Burning”. This program, supervised by Hariyani Dwi Anjani, S.P., M.Sc., focuses on community empowerment through the innovative utilization of agricultural waste. Corn cob waste, which has previously been underutilized, is processed into environmentally friendly briquettes that have economic value while supporting household energy efficiency. Additionally, this initiative aims to enhance the capacity of the PKK group in managing local resources sustainably.
