Yogyakarta, December 10, 2025 – The Evaluation of the Fall Semester Practicum for the 2025/2026 Academic Year was held offline at the MMA Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Agricultural Social Economics Building, Faculty of Agriculture. This activity marked the completion of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program Practicum for the Fall Semester 2025/2026. Lecturers and practicum assistants attended the event as a forum for reflection and continuous improvement of the practicum implementation over the course of one semester.

Yogyakarta, November 26, 2026 — The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, proudly welcomed 10 male graduates and 12 female graduates who officially earned their Bachelor of Agriculture (S.P.) degrees at the First Graduation Ceremony of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. This event marked a significant milestone for the entire academic community, as it once again highlighted numerous commendable achievements at both the departmental and faculty levels.
Yogyakarta, November 5, 2025 – The UGM Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program held a guest lecture for the Regional Economics course. The lecture carried the theme “Structural Changes in the Irish Economy 1926-2020: An Input-Output Analysis” with Prof. Cathal O’Donoghue, Professor of Public and Social Policy, University of Galway, Ireland, as the guest speaker.
In this guest lecture, Prof. Cathal began by introducing the basic concepts of value chains and input-output analysis. The value chain begins with the provision of raw materials, production, distribution, and sales services, to generate added value for consumers. In today’s economy, the value chain involves interactions between various sectors, giving rise to input-output relationships. Prof. Cathal explained the input-output (IO) model, which shows the multiplier effect when demand for inputs in a sector increases and involves inter-regional interactions.
Yogyakarta, November 5, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a guest lecture in the Agricultural Economics course. The lecture focused on the theme “The Concept of Sustainable Value Chains in Agriculture,” featuring Dr. Adhitya Marendra Kiloes, a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Queensland.
In his lecture, Dr. Adhitya emphasized the importance of integrating economic, social, and environmental aspects, known as the triple bottom line principle, as a strategy for achieving a sustainable value chain in the agricultural sector. Students were encouraged to understand how to manage agricultural value chains efficiently and inclusively through innovation, public-private partnerships, and technology, adding value for businesses, communities, and the environment, and achieving resilient, climate-adaptive agriculture.
Yogyakarta, October 15, 2025 — The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, has carried out a community service activity in Nawungan I Hamlet, Selopamioro Village, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency. This activity is part of the Agricultural Socio-Economics Department Grant program. It is an effort by the EPA Study Program to encourage community empowerment by developing local agribusiness potential. The community service activity, entitled “Utilizing the Potential of Nawungan 1 Hamlet as an Agricultural and Rural Tourism Destination,” was inspired by the hamlet’s great potential to develop agrotourism based on agriculture and local culture.
Yogyakarta, October 20, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada held a guest lecture for the Business Analysis and Agricultural Projects course. The lecture focused on the theme “Circular Economy Practices in the Horticultural Business”, featuring a speaker from the Secretary of the Deputy for Food, Natural Resources, and the Environment at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Ms. Puspita Suryaningtyas, S.P., MBA, MGES.
Yogyakarta, October 10, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held a guest lecture for the Agribusiness Management course with the topic “Customer Behavior”. The event featured Prof. Wirawan Dony Dahana from The University of Osaka, Japan, an expert in marketing and consumer behavior. The lecture was enthusiastically attended by students eager to deepen their understanding of customer behavior and its application in modern agricultural business strategies.
Lecturers from the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program, Agus Dwi Nugroho, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Arif Wahyu Widada, S.P., M.Sc., participated in the “Business Incubator Consultant” Training and Certification held by the Indonesian Management Forum (FMI) in Yogyakarta on July 31 – August 2, 2025. This activity is part of staff development efforts focused on improving lecturers’ competencies in entrepreneurship and business incubator-based MSME assistance. This staff development program is one of the implementations of the Impactful Campus Competition Program (PKKB) from the Higher Education Database Center (PDDIKTI).
The PKM-PM BIJAK UGM Team, funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), carried out a program entitled “Empowerment of PKK Kalimundu through Processing of Agricultural Waste Corncobs into Briquettes with Optimization of Caloric Combustion”. This activity aims to empower PKK mothers in Kalimundu Hamlet, Gadingharjo Village, Sanden District, Bantul Regency, by processing agricultural waste into environmentally friendly briquettes that hold economic value, thereby promoting community welfare improvement.
Yogyakarta, September 15, 2025 – The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA), Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, once again conducted a Village Project implementation, this time located at the Mekar Organic Rice Farmers Group, Ngalian and Ngudi Makmur Organic Rice Farmers Group, Prumpung, Sleman Regency. The activity carried the theme “Program to enhance students’ understanding and capabilities in developing joint marketing concepts through the Village Project model.” This Village Project was participated in by 15 EPA students from the 2022 batch under the guidance of Hariyani Dwi Anjani, S.P., M.Sc., Sugiyarto, S.P., M.Sc., and Dr. Ir. Lestari Rahayu Waluyati, M.P.
