The Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) established a collaboration with PT Rumah Mocaf Indonesia (Free Learning Campus Merdeka) (MBKM). This collaboration was initiated by the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Department of Agricultural Social Economics, Faculty of Agriculture UGM. The cooperation agreement was signed on Friday, January 20, 2023 offline in the Cooperation and Alumni Room of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. Representatives of the UGM Faculty of Agriculture and PT Rumah Mocaf Indonesia attended the event. The signing of the cooperation was carried out by Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph. D. as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Akhmad Arwyn Imamur Rozi, S. T., M. B. A. as Managing Director of PT Rumah Mocaf Indonesia. This agribusiness company produces, markets, and develops Mocaf (Modified Cassava Flour) products and their derivatives through socio-agropreneurship partnerships with more than 452 cassava farmers in Banjarnegara. Its product marketing does not only meet the domestic market. However, it is also exported to several countries, one of which is Turkey.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, established an Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) partnership with CV Erista Garden which was officially signed on Thursday, 19 January 2022. The event was held offline in the Meeting Room of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM, which was attended by representatives of the UGM Faculty of Agriculture and CVs Ersita Garden. The signing of the cooperation agreement was carried out by Ir Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D. as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Ir. Erista Adisetya, MM. as the director of CV Erista Garden. The company is engaged in the ornamental plant business, selling from upstream to downstream: Nurseries, selling Erista Mart vegetables, selling vegetable and ornamental plants (Agrimart), making and managing gardens (Erista Flora), restaurants (Griyo Dhahar, Padasan Coffee (café ), Erista Kaliaji in Turi, Erista Garden (service, education, and training).

In order to be recognized at the international level as a study program that applies global quality standards, on March 21-23 2022, an online visitation activity for ASIIN International Accreditation was carried out for the Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University. ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathemati k) is an international accreditation institution from Germany for the disciplines of engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture and biology. Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, along with four other study programs, namely Bachelor of Agronomy, Bachelor of Soil Science, Bachelor of Aquaculture, and Bachelor in Aquatic Resources Management, participated in visitation activities as part of the ASIIN accreditation series. The visit was carried out for three days and began with presenting the ranks of the rectorate and deans, departments, and study programs. Representatives of educators and students attended the second day of the visit. The visit ended on the third day with presenting partners and presentations on infrastructure from the three study programs. International accreditation assessment emphasizes the standardization of graduates’ abilities by evaluating the achievement of study program results set by the accreditation agency.
In connection with the implementation of MBKM in the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, on Thursday, April 29, 2021, socialization was held to students so that MBKM could be carried out more smoothly. On this occasion, the students got information that out of eight forms of learning activities, the study program decided to carry out five activities, namely student exchanges, internships/work practices, research, entrepreneurial activities, and village development.
The socialization was delivered directly by the head of the study program Dr. Any Suryantini and MBKM team representative Abi Pratiwa Siregar, M.Sc.
Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program was selected to be one of the recipients of Curriculum Cooperation Assistance Programs and Implementation of Freedom to Learn – Independence Campus on decree number 1575 / E2 / DM.00.01 / 2021 by Directorate General of Higher Education. Through this grant, it is hoped that there will be an acceleration in the process and implementation of cooperation to make Freedom to Learn – Independence Campus a success.
The culinary festival held by the UGM Agricultural Socio-Economic Student Family on April 27-28 2019 which took place at the Koesnadi Hardjosoemantri UGM Cultural Center has entered its fourth edition. This year with the theme “Culinary as an Archipelago Cultural Heritage” Jogjajanan 2019 presents a total of 32 food tenants consisting of traditional and modern food tenants. In addition to the culinary festival, Jogjajanan 2019 is also enlivened by entertainment events such as agricultural markets and galleries, workshops on coffee, terrariums, and eco-printing, art competitions such as band competitions, dance, and Instagram photo contests, and closed by a music concert filled by Fourtwnty. , Nadin Amizah (Cakecaine), The Kandang, Nawaetnika, and other performers. At Jogjajanan 2019, a total of around 2700 visitors enjoyed the entire series of events presented by the committee. Agricultural Socioeconomics Week is an entrepreneurial talk show that is part of the 2019 Jogjajanan series of events. This event was organized by the Agricultural Socio-Economic Student Family of Gadjah Mada University with the theme “Be Creative in Your Passion and Build Your Business” held on 21 October 2018 at the MMA Auditorium. Social Economics of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM. On this occasion, the committee invited several young entrepreneurs such as Tia Ristiana Dewi, who currently has the position of Chief Marketing Officer of Zare.id, Federico Junior Herlianto as Head of Operations for Koma Cheese Tea, and Hassan Imaduddin as CEO of an Ivenframe ticket sales platform. This event went quite lively and the enthusiasm of the talk show participants was also quite good. We would like to thank the talk show participants and parties who helped make this event a success.
One of the typical courses of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program is the practicum course on Agricultural Socio-Economic Assessment (PSEP). In 2019, the course coordinated by Arini Wahyu Utami SP, M.Sc., Ph.D. carried out practicum activities in Turi and Tempel Districts, Sleman Yogyakarta Regency. The practicum activity was released by Dr. Jangkung Handoyo Mulyo, M.Ec, as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics.
In this course, students have the opportunity to live with farmers for 4 days, accompanied by lecturers and practicum assistants. Students learn to observe and study how a farmer manages his farm. Besides, students also learn to calculate how the condition of a farm is seen from a social and economic perspective.
Even though the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended, this has not dampened the enthusiasm of the Yogyakarta City Vegetable Farmers Association to continue its urban agricultural activities. Cultivation of plants and fish cultivation continues until finally, they can enjoy what they have been cultivating.
