Yogyakarta, September 18, 2025 – The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM, is proud to congratulate Mr. Arif Wahyu Widada, S.P., M.Sc., who has been awarded a doctoral (S3) study opportunity at the Graduate School of Global Humanities and Social Science, Nagasaki University, Japan. His departure is not only a personal achievement but also a strategic step in strengthening academic capacity, research, and international networks in the field of agricultural economics and agribusiness.

“Every great journey begins with a single step.”

The academic journey of Mr. Arif Wahyu Widada, S.P., M.Sc. proves this point. From his undergraduate studies to his master’s degree, his dedication to science has continued to grow, and it has now led him to the opportunity to pursue doctoral studies (S3) at the Graduate School of Global Humanities and Social Science, Nagasaki University, Japan.

This study journey is also closely related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through improving the quality of higher education and research, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through contributing to inclusive and sustainable economic growth, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through international academic collaboration across countries.

The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program hopes that this departure will inspire all lecturers and students to continue improving themselves, strengthening global academic networks, and bringing innovation to research and teaching. In the future, the EPA Program is committed to promoting international collaborative research, enhancing academic capacity relevant to global challenges, and establishing a center for the development of competitive, sustainable, and socially beneficial agricultural economics and agribusiness. We hope that this study trip will run smoothly and bring significant benefits to the development of science and the progress of the UGM Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program.
