Yogyakarta, March 24, 2025 – The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held a guest lecture on entrepreneurship with the theme “Building the Founding Team.” This event took place hybrid offline at the MMA Auditorium and online through Zoom Meeting on Thursday, March 20, 2025. This event is open to students and the general public.
In the world of entrepreneurship, building a strong founding team is one of the key factors for a startup’s success. Therefore, this guest lecture presented an experienced resource person in the startup and business field, Janu Muhammad, S.Pd., M.Sc., Founder and CEO of Sayur Sleman, to share insights on strategies in selecting team members, building synergy, and managing dynamics in the founding team.
The guest lecture highlighted the link between startup team building and agribusiness entrepreneurship. In agribusiness, a solid team is essential to manage the supply chain, ensure production sustainability, and optimize the marketing of agricultural products. The Sayur Sleman case study is a clear example of how to build a successful agribusiness-based startup through strong team collaboration. With an innovative approach, Sayur Sleman can overcome challenges in distributing agricultural products, improve market access for farmers, and create a sustainable business model. Building innovative agriculture-based startups can contribute to sustainable food production, job creation in the agricultural sector, and developing a more efficient and environmentally friendly farming system.
By organizing this guest lecture, it is hoped that the participants can understand the importance of teamwork in building a sustainable business. The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program is committed to continuing to present inspiring and applicable academic activities to support the development of an entrepreneurial spirit among students and the wider community.
