On January 16, 2024, the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program (EPA Prodi) carried out a visit to the Guyub Farmer Group in Karangrejek, Wonosari, Gunung Kidul. This event was attended by various parties, including the Head of the Guyub Farmers Group, the Head of the Hamlet, the Wonosari Agricultural Extension Officer, the Head of the Study Program, and a number of EPA Study Program lecturers. The main purpose of this visit is to hand over assistance for agricultural production facilities as a form of service from universities to the community.
Apart from handing over aid, this activity also provides momentum to coordinate cooperation with the Guyub Farmers Group regarding the implementation of student activities, such as research and field practice. Through interaction between universities and farmer groups, it is hoped that mutually beneficial and sustainable cooperation can be established.
This coordination is not only a means to provide material assistance but also to discuss ways to increase agricultural productivity in the area. By involving various parties, including lecturers and agricultural extension workers, it is hoped that practical solutions can be found to overcome the problems faced by farmers in this group.
Overall, this visit reflects the EPA Study Program’s commitment to making positive contributions to society, especially in the agricultural sector. Through assistance and collaboration, it is hoped that the Guyub Farmers Group can gain real benefits, while students can gain valuable practical experience to apply their academic knowledge in the field.
