Agricultural Socioeconomics Week is an entrepreneurial talk show that is part of the 2019 Jogjajanan series of events. This event was organized by the Agricultural Socio-Economic Student Family of Gadjah Mada University with the theme “Be Creative in Your Passion and Build Your Business” held on 21 October 2018 at the MMA Auditorium. Social Economics of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM. On this occasion, the committee invited several young entrepreneurs such as Tia Ristiana Dewi, who currently has the position of Chief Marketing Officer of Zare.id, Federico Junior Herlianto as Head of Operations for Koma Cheese Tea, and Hassan Imaduddin as CEO of an Ivenframe ticket sales platform. This event went quite lively and the enthusiasm of the talk show participants was also quite good. We would like to thank the talk show participants and parties who helped make this event a success.

One of the typical courses of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program is the practicum course on Agricultural Socio-Economic Assessment (PSEP). In 2019, the course coordinated by Arini Wahyu Utami SP, M.Sc., Ph.D. carried out practicum activities in Turi and Tempel Districts, Sleman Yogyakarta Regency. The practicum activity was released by Dr. Jangkung Handoyo Mulyo, M.Ec, as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics.
In this course, students have the opportunity to live with farmers for 4 days, accompanied by lecturers and practicum assistants. Students learn to observe and study how a farmer manages his farm. Besides, students also learn to calculate how the condition of a farm is seen from a social and economic perspective.
Even though the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended, this has not dampened the enthusiasm of the Yogyakarta City Vegetable Farmers Association to continue its urban agricultural activities. Cultivation of plants and fish cultivation continues until finally, they can enjoy what they have been cultivating. On September 12, 2020, the Yogyakarta City Vegetable Farmers Association held a big harvest with all stakeholders, including Lecturers in the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program and the Agribusiness Management Masters Study Program, as well as the Yogyakarta City Government represented by the Deputy Mayor of Yogyakarta, the Head of the Kraton District, and the Head of the Yogyakarta City Agriculture and Food Service.
