The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) at the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, held a Coaching Session for Laboratory Assistants for Genap Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Wednesday, February 5, 2026, at the MMA Auditorium in the Sosek Building. The event was attended by Asih Kusumaningsih, S.P., M.Sc., as the General Laboratory Coordinator; Dr. Hani Perwitasari, S.P., M.Sc., as the Head of the EPA Program; faculty members; and the Laboratory Assistant Team, consisting of undergraduate students from the EPA program, Master’s students in Agricultural Economics (MEP), and Master’s students in Agribusiness Management (MMA).
The coaching session took place in a warm, interactive atmosphere, beginning with a presentation on the timeline for the practical training over the next semester. In addition, participants received training on the laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which serve as the primary guidelines for carrying out their duties in a professional and structured manner. Equally important, this agenda also served as a strategic moment to select the Laboratory Assistant Coordinator, who will act as the liaison between supervising faculty members and all assistants.
More than just technical training, this activity aims to align understanding, strengthen coordination, and foster a sense of responsibility among the lab assistants. Through this activity, it is hoped that the lab assistants will not only be administratively prepared but also capable of serving as adaptive, communicative, and inspiring learning facilitators. In the long term, it is hoped that the implementation of laboratory sessions within the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program will be more systematic and professional, providing an optimal learning experience for all students.
This Laboratory Assistant Coaching activity serves as a crucial first step in ensuring the team’s readiness to navigate the dynamics of the upcoming semester, while reinforcing a shared commitment to maintaining the quality of learning within the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Program.
