Another proud achievement has been secured by students of the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) Study Program. The Student Creativity Program – Community Service (PKM-PM) 2025, comprising Laluna Lena (EPA 2023), Asyifa Nur Afanie (EPA 2023), Anisa Eka Zakiya (EPA 2023), and two other students from different programs, has successfully secured funding for the PKM-PM 2025 program.
The title of the program is “BIJAK – Empowering the PKK of Kalimundu Village through the Utilization of Corn Cob Agricultural Waste into Briquettes with Optimized Calorific Burning”. This program, supervised by Hariyani Dwi Anjani, S.P., M.Sc., focuses on community empowerment through the innovative utilization of agricultural waste. Corn cob waste, which has previously been underutilized, is processed into environmentally friendly briquettes that have economic value while supporting household energy efficiency. Additionally, this initiative aims to enhance the capacity of the PKK group in managing local resources sustainably.
This initiative is aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, through the provision of alternative energy from agricultural waste. SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by opening up opportunities for increased community income from briquette products. SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, through the optimization of waste utilization into valuable products. SDG 13: Climate Action, by supporting the use of environmentally friendly energy that can reduce emissions.
This success is expected not only to be an academic achievement but also to have a tangible impact on the community of Dusun Kalimundu. Moving forward, the PKM-PM EPA team aims to replicate this innovation in other regions, so that more communities can benefit from the conversion of agricultural waste into alternative energy.
