An entrepreneur is a person who makes a product, determines production methods, organizes operations to produce new products, and manages capital and marketing. Of course, in entrepreneurship and developing an entrepreneurial attitude, there are many things that must be considered, such as mindset and other aspects.
The Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Study Program, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held a guest lecture on the Management & Agricultural Economics course on September 23, 2023 with speaker Sujatmo Halim, CEO of Defora Consulting. This guest lecture carried the theme of Organic Vegetable Entrepreneurship, which was moderated by Anung Pranyoto, S.P., M.P., M.Ec. (Lecturer in Agricultural Economics Management Course).
Sujatmo Halim said that there is a Mind Philosophy (3 Key Business Mindset):
- Value Creation: this concept is an effort to change owned resources into something valuable and valuable through the production stages. This value makes someone interested in continuing to buy. The more specific the value offered, the better the business prospects.
- Demand Creation: this stage is a process used to encourage awareness and interest in a product or service. Entrepreneurs must have a strategy so that their business can be sustainable.
- Make It Happen Mentality: having a successful mentality in entrepreneurship is an obligation. An entrepreneur is not an administrator but a fighter, so they must be proactive, determined, dare to take risks, and be able to consider everything.
In entrepreneurship, an entrepreneur is required to be able to think creatively. Entrepreneurs must dare to take opportunities that are never taken by people in general or what we usually call Think Out Of The Mind
Key to Organic Sustainability:
- Sell before harvest
- Make sure we get repeat orders for business stability
- Don’t sell it as a product, but sell the value in it
- Don’t only provide after-sales service. Also, try to provide before-sales service
- Don’t sell at a cheap price
