The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (EPA) at the Faculty of Agriculture once again hosted a Guest Lecture on Agricultural Business on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Under the theme “Quitting the Bank to Realize Sustainable Agriculture,” the event featured Mr. Theodorus Dedy Tri Kuncoro, S.Si, CEO of PT Bhumee Artani Nusantara, as the guest speaker. The lecture was moderated by Pinjung Nawang Sari, S.P., M.Sc., and attended by undergraduate students from the EPA program’s 2025 cohort.
The event took place in an interactive atmosphere. During the presentation, the guest speaker shared his career journey, which began in the banking sector before he transitioned to the agricultural sector. This significant decision served as the starting point for creating a broader impact, particularly in developing sustainable agriculture that is not only productivity-oriented but also mindful of ecological balance.
The active discussion between students and the guest speaker was one of the event’s highlights. A variety of critical questions were raised, ranging from the challenges of building a modern agricultural business to the importance of courage in making strategic decisions. The guest speaker emphasized that bold steps grounded in a strong vision and values can create significant opportunities to make a tangible contribution to the agricultural sector.
Through this guest lecture, students are expected to gain new insights into the interconnection between the economic and agricultural sectors, as well as understand the importance of innovation and sustainability in farming practices. Additionally, this event aims to inspire students to boldly explore various career opportunities and contribute to the development of a more sustainable agricultural sector.
In the long term, this activity is expected to foster an adaptive and visionary mindset among students while strengthening the younger generation’s role in transforming the agricultural sector toward a more inclusive, productive, and sustainable system.
